Going back to school…..

Through the years my husband has always talked about an interest in nursing. When you’re working a job that pays nicely and seems to be stable (haha), it’s very difficult to imagine leaping off into the unknown. It was always something we just talked about but never had the guts to pursue. Since losing his job, the idle talk has become more of a reality. It’s a little intimidating returning to class at 39, but I have every confidence he will succeed.

He started his CNA classes last week. I think that whole episode will cost around $1000 in the end. The hope is that he can obtain a job as a CNA to help with tuition while my job (fingers crossed) continues to pay the daily expenses. It’s funny, the timing was perfect. The class actually started the day he called to check it out. I firmly believe God has it all under control. Now that’s not to say that it’s going to be an easy path, but He never promised that. He did, however, promise to be with us. Hebrews 13:5 says “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'” Even when we stray….. He is faithful.

The real trick now is figuring out how to pay for a nursing degree without taking out a pile of student loans……… Can we do it? We shall see!!!

Got a friend who is doing the same thing at 47 years old.

If you’ve lost the job anyway, there’s definitely no time like the present for a career change.
